# Retrieve a person
> Fetch the full identity profile of a single person record using the external_id assigned at creation, including addresses and nationality details.
Use this endpoint to retrieve the current state of a person record at any point in their lifecycle. The response includes the person's full name, date of birth, nationality, and all associated address records. This endpoint is useful for verifying stored identity data before submitting it to a KYC workflow, confirming that a person's information is up to date before associating them with a new merchant, or auditing the identity records in your system against Tilta's stored data.
If the person is already associated with a merchant as a Representative or UBO, retrieve them first using this endpoint before
calling the Replace person endpoint. This ensures you don't accidentally clear data required for ongoing KYC compliance.
